Sports Day 2018

Wednesday 11th July saw another very successful sports day for Crestwood. Participation levels were very high, with just over 450 separate students participating in sporting events, the whole day went superbly and continued as a mainstay of the house awards system operating in school, this was the first sports day with the new houses in place.

Students had the opportunity to represent their houses in morning activities including football, golf, swimming, basketball, table tennis and new for this year footgolf. With representatives from every form in the school across all ranges in years 7-10, this was a very busy and very competitive morning. The points gained from each activity fed into the outcome of the whole day which included the afternoon athletics activities.

In the afternoon the track and field athletics event began. With tremendous support from the members of each house who were situated on the bank, participants competed in shot-put, javelin, discus, high-jump, 100m, 200m, 300m, 600m and the team relay event. With support that included banners and chants the day was a real showcase for sport, and for competition between the houses.

After counting up the total points gathered across all event in the day, only 10 points separated the top two houses. This is the equivalent of just a 2 place difference in a running event!!!!  The overall winners of Sports Day 2017 were………… FIRE!!!!

Year 11 Football

In football our year 11 boys fought valiantly against a very good Summerhill team in the final of the Duncan Edwards Cup to finish their time at Crestwood as cup winners, a game and night that will live long in the memory of all those involved. On top of this they also ran out league winners.
