Ethics on the agenda

Invictus Sixth Form students from across the trust’s six schools were joined by Ian Austin MP and prominent figures from across the region at Netherton Arts Centre for our first ever Sixth Form Ethics Day on Friday!

Ounsdale School, Kinver High School, Ellowes Hall School, Crestwood School and Leasowes High School were all represented at the event.

Sponsored by Dudley-based Flame Trust and organised by the newly formed Mercian Chaplaincy Partnership, the conference challenged ethical standards in education, industry, healthcare and the community.

It also served to mark the launch of a new chaplaincy initiative established in the Invictus Academies.

Mr Austin, the MP for Dudley North, delivered the opening address, underlining the ethical challenges in today’s society, drawing from many of his own experiences.

Students then attended workshops led by prominent figures from the West Midlands.

Dave Pope, CEO of Flame Trust, said: “This has been a most successful event which gave sixth form students the opportunity to voice their concerns and opinions, and challenge many of the standards that are accepted in today’s society.”
