Our inaugural ‘Alumni Coffee Morning’ took place on Wednesday 25 September; it was a huge success and an incredible experience for all involved.
Over 20 former students that attended the school in the 1960’s and 1970’s (then Brierley Hill Grammar School) came to visit us for the morning, to share their experiences from their school days with us, and see for themselves how the school has changed over the past 30, 40 in some cases almost 50 years!
The feedback from our alumni was overwhelming and we have shared some of the wonderful comments below. From our perspective it was so interesting to listen to the amazing careers our former students have forged, we have spoken with teachers, opera singers, international sports coaches, actors, business owners, chartered accountants, dentists plus many more diverse professionals. Two of our former students travelled from Buckinghamshire just to visit us today, we are so proud and privileged.
There is a small gallery from the morning available on our Facebook Page and below you can read some of the feedback left by our visitors:
‘Great to see the school doing so well, a very informative tour by the students’ (M Cox 1964-1971)
‘Excellent experience to see the incredible changes that have occurred over the years!’ (A Graham)
‘Thank you for the wonderful trip down memory lane. Many changes, but still the same core values. I am proud to be an ‘old’ student and wish the school all the best for the future’ (S Wood 1967-1974)
‘The atmosphere seems much more relaxed than in our day! Thanks to Jake and Lucianne for our tour!’ (S Gardner 1967-1973)

‘Many thanks for the chance to revisit our old school! It brings back so many happy memories. Many aspects of the building are still the same but can obviously see the improvements.I am really impressed with all the changes & students and pupils were so welcoming. I am glad to see the uniform is still the same – long may it reign!!’ (A Packwood 1967-1971)
‘So glad I came. What a wonderful ethos throughout the school. It was lovely to meet the pupils – their pride is in great evidence as is the staff’s pride in them. Many thanks!’ (H Rea)
We have collected lots of ‘Bromlians’, the old school magazine, and we will be taking photographs of the stories and pictures to share in the near future along with other amazing paraphernalia our guests brought in for us to see!
We may even be tempted to relaunch the Bromlian for our students!
Wednesday 18th September saw Crestwood School host Open Evening 2019. This years event saw a record attendance with hundreds upon hundreds of prospective students visiting the school with their families.
All attendees were wowed by a number of performances from our students and various exhibitions and demonstrations around the school.
Headteacher, Mrs Sutton, and her team would like to thank all of those that attended, our amazing students that were the perfect hosts and tour guides and of course the superb staff who go above and beyond to create such a wonderful event.
A gallery of the evening is available on our school Facebook Page.
Remember, CHOOSE CRESTWOOD!
Dear parents/carers, we will be finishing at 2.35pm on Wednesday 18th September due to Open Evening. If you need your child to remain in school until 3.30pm then they are to go to the hall after registration where they will be supervised until the end of the normal school day.
Thank you for your continued support.
