The Crestwood School is committed to raising the standards of numeracy of all of its students; we want our pupils to be confident and capable in the use of numeracy to support their learning in all areas of the curriculum and to acquire the skills necessary to help achieve success in further education, employment and adult life.

Year 7 and 8 students at Crestwood will be part of the Numeracy Ninja form time programme will be part of the numeracy ninjas form time program, completing key skills tasks once per week in their form time. Year 9 follow an Essential Skills Numeracy programme which helps prepare the students for GCSE Maths. Years 10 and 11 are given the opportunity to practice their Numeracy skills with a Corbett Maths "5 - A - Day" programme.  Activities are immediately assessed and provide feedback as to where they can improve. Students who require additional support will form an informal support group aimed at targeting weaker areas of numeracy basics such as mental arithmetic and times tables.

Each Year Crestwood participate in the UKMT National Maths/Numeracy Challenge. This is a fantastic  opportunity for students of all years and encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
