Sports Centre
A state of the art sports hall equipped with cricket nets, basketball court, badminton courts, indoor tennis court, volleyball court, indoor 5/6 a side football pitch, trampolines, sound system. We can facilitate pretty much any sport or activity that requires space and a roof!
Current local clubs/schools that use the Sports Centre include: Midland football Coaching, Elite Cricket Coaching, Core Karate West Midlands, Referee Football Coaching, Black Country VC, SJ Sports Ltd-Football Kikz, Community Combat
Use of the changing room and shower facilities are welcomed before or after your activity.
Sports Field
A huge, well maintained park which is home to our hockey pitches, mini soccer pitches, 9 & 11 a side football pitches and a 400 metre running track.
Currently a home venue for our successful Crestwood School Hockey/Football Teams, & P.S.Olympic Football club.
The sports field is a versatile area that could be used for bootcamps or other fitness based sessions. Access to the The Sports Centre changing facilities is also available on request.
Gymnasium
A beautiful ‘old school’ gymnasium fully equipped with all the fantastic functional equipment you would expect, such as, climbing apparatus, climbing ropes, battle ropes, beams, pull up bars and all the safety matting you might need to make it safe!
The gymnasium also has perfectly maintained wooden flooring suitable for most sports, activities or fitness sessions. The gymnasium is currently a venue for Wordsley Wasps U9’s, Tate Fitness and Sedgley & Gornal FC.
Swimming pool
Crestwood swimming Pool is home to 3 local swimming clubs, Waves Academy, Swim Stars and Salamander Swimming School. All have fully trained dedicated staff, teaching children from the ages of 3 upwards to swim and lifesaving water skills.
4G Astroturf pitches
Our State of the art 4G floodlit pitch is a training venue for 9 local football clubs and a number of community groups that train regularly on this facility.
What is Crestwood CONNECT?
In 2014 we created Crestwood CONNECT. The plan was to launch a community arm of the school and ensure that the school’s facilities were accessible to our community outside of normal school hours.
At the time very few people used the school’s facilities and there was no dedicated team to serve the people that were attending activities at the school. We created the following Brand Promise:
“The heart of Crestwood CONNECT is not only the team, but YOU, our COMMUNITY.”
Since the start of Crestwood CONNECT we are happy to report we have successfully delivered our promise to our community and will continue to be driven by this. The Crestwood CONNECT reputation and influence within our community continues to grow with an incredibly diverse offering of activity and well-being provision taking place in our school’s facility.
The number of people that visit our school each week is forever growing, meaning that more and more local families are able to spend quality, healthy time together in a time where it is so easy to become disengaged with friends and family.
We have over 3,000 members of our community now using the school’s facilities outside of school hours, all participating or spectating in the activities delivered by over 40 different organisations. This has allowed us to build strong relationships with a number of these organisations, providing opportunities in terms of activity provision and in some cases work experience and employment for our students.
