English Core Standards.

In English the core standards are to:

 

• Provide access for everyone, catering for each student's individual needs

• Provide the ability to communicate successfully for the appropriate audience and purpose, both verbally and in writing

• Promote a love of literature and English language

• Develop creativity in thought and response

• Ensure cross curricular activities are embedded in schemes of learning, through classroom learning, and extra-curricular opportunities

• Enhance social and emotional intelligence.
